About Me

Small Animal Massage Practitioner serving Cowlitz County

I grew up with a profound affection for animals and aspired to become a veterinarian, a common childhood dream. However, becoming a Licensed Small Animal Massage Practitioner (LSAMP) was not on my radar until recently, when I discovered it was a recognized profession. PAWSitive Animal Massage is a tribute to our late Boxer, Cleo. Cleo was a rescue pup who suffered from nutritional deficiencies. We knew little about her past, and she was initially timid. We welcomed her into our family and raised her with love and care. During our first veterinary visit, it became apparent that her gait was irregular. She was later diagnosed with severe arthritis in her hips. One day, our beloved Cleo layed down but could no longer get back up. We were devastated, knowing what it likely signified. Heartbroken, we stayed by her side and explored every possible means of comforting her. After her passing, I couldn't help but wonder if there was something more we could have done to alleviate her pain. The answer is unequivocal: yes. Following extensive research on animal arthritis, I discovered the Northwest School of Animal Massage on Vashon Island, which offered a massage practitioner program for small and large animals. I knew this is where I was supposed to be. The warmth and kindness of the staff at the Northwest School of Animal Massage left an indelible mark on me. Lola, the owner, profoundly impacted my life, and I am eternally grateful for our encounter. During my training, I experienced an epiphany - I wanted to specialize in senior and end-of-life massages. This work has proven to be the most rewarding and soul-fulfilling experience of my life. Witnessing an animal transition from fear to understanding and trust, as they realize the massage is alleviating their pain, is truly an amazing feeling.

Cleo's legacy lives on, as she inspired me to discover my passion. I am committed to following my heart and dedicating my life to being a voice for animals who may suffer in silence. Animals are remarkably stoic creatures, and when I can identify and address the sources of their pain, I become their advocate. I am honored to help them.
